Kevin Cook
Kevin Cook is a realist landscape painter who resides in Prince Edward Island and New England.
After attending the Rhode Island School of Design in 1974 he studied Fine Arts at The Flagler College in Florida where he received his BFA. (1976-1980) Following this he did graduate studies at the Universitia de Urbino, Urbino, Italy (1991) and also at Arizona State University(1993 - 1994).
Says Cook, " Realist landscape painting is undergoing a renaissance in North America and it is an exciting time to paint and be part of this growing art movement. There is an awakened interest in the preservation of the environment and appreciation of the landscape.
Prince Edward Island has a special and exceptional quality of light. The diverse colours of the landscape appear intensiied yet harmonious. I try to exemplify this in each painting. My best work is done here each summer."
Kevin and his wife have spent the last ten summers on PEI, enjoying the natural beauty and relaxed way of life.
